Remisens Premium Heritage Hotel Imperial - Opatija

I really loved the historical aspect of the hotel. It was built 125 years ago back in times of kings and queens of the Austro-Hungairian Empire. Facinating! Excellent value for the price, plus the bonus beautiful hotel and great location across the street from the water. There was a parking lot right beside the hotel free until 7 am, then 5kn per hour during the day. There was also a few spots available at the hotel for 45kn a day. Breafast was excellent. Lots of selection including a few kinds of hot egss and sassages. Great coffee/cappucino machine...... another bonus to the hotel!

The positive and helpful attitude of the staff. The wonderful sense of history associated with the hotel strengthened by our arrival on the night of the Kaiserfest when the hotel celebrated its memory of hosting the former Kaiser Wilhelm as one of its frequent guests through historical reenactment and pageantry. The building which lived up to its name of 'imperial' with rooms on a grand scale including balconies overlooking the sea and town. The abundant breakfast in a vast dining room with chandeliers. The opportunity to explore Opatija which is described as the riviera of Croatia and the tourist museum which explained the influence of Austrian rule on the area's development so lucidly.

I liked the historical dimension of the hotel. Helpful and nice staff as well.

The setting in which the hotel resided was a strang one. Like a twisted time-dimension or an ecclectic mix of croisette in the eighties, families and survivors of many centuries, grumpiness, noisy music, heavy cigarette smoke, heavy, heavy perfumes, and not so good food, crowded and narrow.

Good location and the breakfast buffet was very good. A balcony was a nice suprise. The atmosphere was like in aristocratic, 19th century Vienna, especially the breakfast room ( it is more like a ball-room). Good value for money.

The room was spacious but a bit shabby. There was some noise from the busy street in front of the hotell.

location, atmosphere, there is a parking just to the hotel for 5 kuna/hour

old and no good kept, no air condition /it will be terrible in hot summer/, no mini bar, poor breakfast, very unaimable staff in the restaurant

The location is central, and the breakfast was good.

The parking was in far place, closed by a gate. The hotel is very old and the room bathroom is a bit uncomfortable.

Smorgasboard was fantastic.Short walk to the beach.

Charging 70 kunas for a sunshade on the beach.I am aware that has nothing to do with the hotel but spoils overall picture.Lack of small fridges in rooms for cold drinks.

The location was excellent. The hotel was an impressive old building with charm.

The staff had attitude problems. The hotel lacked Air conditioning or even fans in the rooms which had poor ventilation. It was too warm in the room to sleep well. The buffet breakfast had some seating policy that was not explained but ended up with the rude waitresses forcing us to sit five people at a too small table in the corner by the kitchen while the dinning room was 70% empty. Why it was not just sit where you find a space I can't even imagine.

I like the historian building.

Parking place is hard to get and I ask for nonsmoking room but a got smoking and these was relay not nice.

Quite stiff reception staff, few euros charged extra over the booked rate and the applicable city tax with no exact explanation, very small parking again with charge, no refrigerators in the rooms
